The Energy Smart Kids Information Education and Communication (IEC) campaign of the Department of Energy - Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office (DOE-CWPO) in partnership with the Department of Education – External Partnerships Service (DepEd-EPS) culminated successfully for 2023 in Davao City. 

The IEC was participated by 113 selected elementary students and their advisers of nine (9) participating schools under the Department of Education Region XI (Davao Region) – Davao City Schools Division (SDO) on November 23, 2023. Among these schools are Sta. Ana Central Elementary School, Matina Central Elementary School, Tugbok Central Elementary School, Talomo Central Elementary School, Maa Central Elementary School, Kapt. Tomas Monteverde Sr. Central Elementary School, Davao City Special School, Magallanes Elementary School, and San Roque Central Elementary School. 

DepEd Davao City Division Schools Division Superintendent Reynante A. Solitario, CESO VI, in his welcome remarks, emphasized the importance of energy and energy efficiency in our daily lives and encouraged the students to be energy-smart kids. 

The EnerKids Program of the CWPO aims to create a core group of students nationwide who will serve as agents in providing powerful information on energy and eventually become “Energy Cost Busters” in their respective homes and schools. ###
