The Department of Energy - Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office (DOE-CWPO) in partnership with its Visayas Field Office successfully conducted the “Consumer Connect: Empowering Energy Consumers with Proper Information to Make Better Choices” Information Education and Communication (IEC) campaign in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on October 19, 2023 at the Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod.
The resource speakers were experts from the Department of Energy – Visayas Field Office (DOE-VFO), Department of Energy - Renewable Energy Management Bureau (DOE-REMB), Department of Energy – Electric Power Industry Management Bureau (DOE-EPIMB) and Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CENECO).
The IEC covers topics about the LGU Energy Code, Net Metering Program, Lifeline Rate Program of the DOE, Status of the Lifeline Rate Program of CENECO, Rights and Responsibilities of Electricity Consumers, Philippine Energy Labeling Program, Salient Points of Republic Act 11592 (LPG Industry Regulation Act) and Consumer Safety Tips on Liquified Petroleum Products and Liquified Petroleum Gas.
The participants were barangay officials and employees of the City Government of Bacolod.
