Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation

The Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation’s (PSPC) oil refinery in Batangas City is currently the sole user of natural gas to serve as fuel for its gas turbine generators (GTG) as well as to provide supplement to its low-pressure fuel gas (LP FG) system since October 2005. The facility consists of 800-meter pipeline used to transport gas from the Malampaya On-shore Gas Plant (MOGP) to the PSPC Tabangao Refinery fuel heater. The use of natural gas for the GTG and furnace reduced operational cost and also augmented the high-pressure fuel gas (HP FG) requirement of the GTG and low-pressure fuel gas (LP FG) requirement of the furnace.
