WORLD OIL PRICES (March 17-21, 2025, trading days)
The week-on-week price of Dubai crude increased by $1.50 per barrel. The international prices of gasoline have also increased by about $1.90 per barrel along with kerosene by about $0.70 per barrel and diesel by around $0.30 per barrel.
Reasons for the Price Adjustment1
- The week-on-week price of Dubai crude increased by $1.50 per barrel. The international prices of gasoline have also increased by about $1.90 per barrel along with kerosene by about $0.70 per barrel and diesel by around $0.30 per barrel.
- Global economic challenges, slowing petrochemical demand recovery and volatile crude prices will continue to pressure market prices in the coming weeks.
- The Asian gasoline market complex softened on expected lackluster in demand due to weaker economic outlook amid narrowing US RBOB-Brent crack. Meanwhile, Asian gasoline is rangebound to stronger on reduced refining output due to refinery turnarounds,
- The Asian ultra-low sulfur gasoil fell amid a well-supplied market and high inventories. The past two weeks have pointed to bearish gasoil premiums, with rising freights and further unrest at the strikes in Yemen and Gaza would add uncertainties of transit via the Red Sea.
- The Asian kerosene/jet complex was seen stable to slightly firmer though supply and demand fundamentals remained slow amid healthy supply availability in the region and sluggish demand. Air travel demand in Indonesia during Ramadan is expected to slow down.
FOREX: The week-on-week average of Philippine peso appreciated versus the US dollar by P0.08 to P57.25 from P57.33 in the previous week.
