Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi, Cabinet Officer for the Regional Development and Security of Region IV-B, MIMAROPA, formally opened the First Meeting of the Regional Task Force in Ending the Local Communist Armed Conflict for Region IV-B held last Friday (24 May) at the Department of Energy (DOE) headquarters in Taguig City.

In his welcome remarks, Sec. Cusi emphasized the need for the government and citizenry to work together in quelling the communist insurgency, which has been plaguing the country for decades.

Also present were officials from the DOE, National Economic Development Authority, Department of Interior and Local Government - MIMAROPA, National Security Council, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines' Western and Southern Luzon Commands.
