DOE outgoing secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla symbolically passes the torch of leadership to the incoming OIC Sec. Zenaida Monsada during the Department's Turnover Ceremony at the DOE headquarters today, July 3, 2015.

Present in the ceremony were the top officials of the Department, employees, and members of the Energy Family. Sec. Petilla noted that his 2 1/2 years of leadership in the Department gave him the opportunity to serve the people and ensure the sustainability of the Department's existing programs and projects.

"I will not leave the Department without a leader to lead you and continue the efforts we started... these are our achievements and we need to preserve it even without me in the picture." said Sec. Petilla.

For her part, OIC Sec. Monsada thanked the DOE for their trust and confidence and asked their suppport as they continue serving the people.

OIC Sec. Monsada have been part of the DOE for nearly 3 decades serving various positions such as Director of the Oil Industry Management Bureau and recently as Undersecretary for Power, Oil and Renewable Energy.
