The Department of Energy in partnership with MERALCO successfully culminates its 2024 Consumer Connect seminar with selected barangay officials,  senior citizens and homeowners of Hoteliers Village 2, Brgy. Bucandala 5 Imus City, Cavite on December 10, 2024.

Consumer Connect is a nationwide campaign of the Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office (CWPO) of the DOE that aims to establish core groups of energy consumer advocates who will serve as agents in providing crucial information to their respective constituents, thus, helping the DOE broaden its reach with the public.

The seminar covers topics specifically designed for energy consumers focusing on renewable energy, LPG and Liquified Petroleum Products buying and safety tips, rights and responsibilities of residential electricity consumers, among others.

Mandate

The CWPO is mandated to formulate and implement the Department of Energy's policies, plans and programs relative to consumer information, welfare promotion, empowerment and protection.
