TYPHOON OMPONG ADVISORY 4: Energy Family Mobilizes Personnel 24/7 as Typhoon Ompong Traverses Northern Luzon

QUEZON CITY – The energy family, through the Task Force on Energy Resiliency, mobilized its personnel to maximize available resources for response and restoration efforts as Typhoon Ompong traverses northern Luzon.

“We would like to inform our kababayans that the energy family has been on a heightened alert level even before the Typhoon entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility. We ensured that emergency preparedness and response mechanisms have been set in place, especially in the areas to be affected,” Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said.

He also emphasized that developments in the area are continuously being monitored. “As soon as the weather permits, our dedicated personnel are ready to conduct the assessments and restore affected energy facilities, be it power or oil,” Sec. Cusi stressed.

The Energy Chief further reminded the public that the DOE of the safety SOPs to prevent accidents and injuries.

“The DOE and the members of the energy family are working together on this,” Cusi concluded.
