MEDIA ADVISORY: TFER UPDATE NO. 3 ON THE 6.3 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE IN TULUNAN, NORTH COTABATO (as of 6:25 PM)

Mindanao's power situation is already back to normal.

The National Electrification Administration continues to coordinate with the concerned Distribution Utilities/Electric Cooperatives for the status of their facilities. Meanwhile, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has mobilized its line personnel to conduct line assessments and restorations, if needed.

I. POWER SECTOR

A. GENERATION
Mindanao Geothermal Power Plant (MGPP) 1 and 2, with a total net generation of 91 megawatts, tripped at 7:37PM of 16 October 2019. MGPP Unit 2 has been restored at 3:13AM today, while MGPP Unit 1 has been restored at 10:20am today.

B. TRANSMISSION
The power transmission backbone in Mindanao remains intact.

Davao-Digos 69kV line tripped at 9:18PM of 16 October 2019 affecting DASURECO and was restored at 1:29AM today.

As of 11:40 PM last night, there have been no reports of damaged transmission facilities or high voltage equipment in South and North Cotabato.

C. DISTRIBUTION

1. DORECO (Davao Oriental) is already under normal operations after experiencing a momentary power interruption.

2. DASURECO (Davao del Sur) is already under normal operations.

Power Restored: 10:13PM

3. DANECO (Davao del Norte) is already under normal operations after experiencing a momentary power interruption.

4. COTELCO (North Cotabato) is already under normal operations.
Power Out: 7:40PM
Power Restored: 12:43AM this morning (17 October)

5. COTELCO-PPALMA (North Cotabato) is under normal operations, with no recorded power interruption.

6. SOCOTECO-1 (South Cotabato) is already under normal operations.
Power Out: 7:36PM
Power Restored: 8:03PM

7. SOCOTECO-2 (South Cotabato) is already under normal operations after experiencing a momentary power interruption.

Moreover, the energy family is appealing to the public to be vigilant in reporting downed/toppled distribution and transmission poles to your respective electric cooperatives.

II. OIL SECTOR

As of this reporting, there are no damages to both upstream and downstream oil facilities.

The DOE and the entire energy family will continue to update the public on developments on this matter.
