The Association of Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP), a regional organization of power industry players, will hold its high level conference on September 23 in Mactan, Cebu.
Over 200 Energy Ministers, Chief Executive Officers and other industry leaders are expected to attend the conference to deliberate on the power industry’s current challenges and solutions. The forum serves as a venue for environmental program advocacies which are geared towards sustainable and inclusive economic development.
“With the theme: Energized Countries, Empowered Communities, the 2019-2020 AESIEAP events underscores the importance of total electrification, particularly in unserved and underserved areas in countries like the country,” Philippine Department of Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said.
“The members of the AESIEAP PH Coalition look forward to the commitment of our delegates in implementing programs that will advocate sustainability and adoption of energy transition in their own countries," AESIEAP Secretary General and Rogelio S. Singson said.
Keynote speakers and panel will discuss the latest energy practices on sustainability and inclusive growth, and their impact to societies.

Established in 1975, AESIEAP is the largest regional association of energy stakeholders with over 100 members from 25 countries. After almost 20 years, the Philippines was once again selected as host country for the CEO Conference and CEPSI, marking the national energy industry’s continued progress.
The CEO Conference is the first half of the biennial AESIEAP conferences. In 2020, Philippines will again host the AESIEAP Conference of Electric Power Supply Industry (CEPSI) at the Manila Marriot Hotel from November 29 to December 3.
The Philippine hosting of 2019-2020 AESIEAP is led by the AESIEAP PH Coalition composed of the Department of Energy, the Department of Tourism, as well as Philippine AESIEAP members: Manila Electric Company (MERALCO), National Power Corporation (NPC), National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and National Transmission Corporation (TransCo).
