BATANGAS CITY - The Department of Energy - Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office (DOE-CWPO) conducted its ENEReady Information, Education and Motivation (IEM) Campaign for the Senior High School students of Batangas National High School (BNHS) at the BNHS Conference Hall last Friday (15 November).

“The DOE is intensifying its ENEReady program to further promote gender balance and development in the energy sector. This program has, in its own little way, significantly contributed to instilling gender equality among our youth in the hopes of helping break gender stereotypes in the workplace,” Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said.

Engr. Martha Isabel S. Dealino and Engr. Sarah Mae V. Tiu of Manila Electric Company together with Engr. Dan Emmanuel M. Montealegre and Ms. Kristine Lorraine F. Somintac of the DOE-Energy Resource Development Bureau, were among the power, petroleum, and coal experts who provided their first-hand experiences as energy professionals. They also discussed possible career options and job opportunities in the energy sector to guide BNHS students in their decisions on which college course track to take.

Launched in 2016, the ENEReady program of the DOE continues to champion gender and development to eradicate misconceptions and eliminate perceived gender labels on several occupations in the energy sector.
