DOE Reveals Theme for 2021 National Energy Consciousness Month

TAGUIG CITY – The Department of Energy (DOE) today revealed the theme for this year’s National Energy Consciousness Month (NECM), ahead of its month-long celebration in December.

The theme, “Committed to Serve: Building a Better Normal by Forging Ahead through Energy Ability, Security, and Sustainability”, underscores the Energy family’s unwavering resolve to bring the country closer to its energy goals amid the various domestic and international challenges being faced by the industry.

“The entire Energy family has risen to the occasion of keeping up with these unprecedented times. We have not, and will not ever allow any obstacle to hold us back from providing a brighter energy future for Filipinos. Patuloy pong naninilbihan ang Kagawaran ng Enerhiya at buong Energy family sa gitna ng kahit anong unos, sakuna o pandemya,” Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi emphasized.

This year’s theme was selected by the NECM Secretariat from a total of 24 entries that have been submitted by the Department’s attached agencies.

The NECM, which coincides with the DOE’s anniversary, provides the Energy family a platform to showcase its latest milestones. It is observed annually under Proclamation No. 1427 signed by then President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in 2007.
