TAGAYTAY CITY – The Department of Energy (DOE) through its Investment Promotion Office (IPO) conducted an Energy Investment Briefing and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign on the Energy Virtual One-Stop Shop (EVOSS) Act last Wednesday (11 September) for Regions IV-A (CALABARZON) and IV-B (MIMAROPA) at the Taal Vista Hotel.
Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said, “Given the importance of realizing energy investments in the country, we conduct these regular briefings to update our stakeholders on recent energy developments and emphasize the important roles of the LGUs in the permitting process especially the transparent and reliable services that is expected from the passage of the EVOSS Act."
The briefing also tackled the requirements and procedures involved in the revised implementation of the Energy Regulation 1-94 program, and how LGUs hosting energy projects benefit from the enhanced scheme.
Signed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte on 8 March 2019, Republic Act No. 11234, or the EVOSS Act, aims to streamline the processing of permits and certifications for new generation, transmission, and distribution power projects.
The Department is set to conduct another energy investment briefing and IEC on the EVOSS Act for Region VI on 16 October 2019 in Iloilo City.
