ENERGY INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES MADE EASIER: Energy Undersecretary Wimpy Fuentebella presented the overview and the proposed draft during the Public Consultation on the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Energy Virtual One-Stop Shop (EVOSS) at the Marquis Events Place in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig yesterday (21 May 2019). The Public Consultation is part of the initial implementation phase of the EVOSS Act following its passage into law last 29 March. It will serve as the key virtual platform for energy investments in the country.

TAGUIG CITY – The Department of Energy (DOE) reached out to key energy players through a public consultation on the Drafting of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Energy Virtual One Stop Shop (EVOSS) Act at the Marquis Events Place in Bonfacio Global City.

The public consultation is a significant step towards the implementation of the EVOSS Act, which aims to cut back on lengthy government processes and generate more energy investments in the country. It aims to create and establish an online platform where prospective energy project developers can apply, submit documentary requirements, pay corresponding fees, and monitor the status of their application.

Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said, "The passage of the EVOSS Act is only the tip of the spear. We need to generate more energy projects to ensure sufficient energy supply for generations to come - we can achieve this with policies that support investments in the energy sector by eliminating hurdles in the application process."

Among those present during the public consultation were energy stakeholders, representatives from national government agencies and entities and members of the energy family.

"The Duterte Administration aims to institutionalize more efficient processes, including those that are certified as energy projects of national significance," the Energy Chief concluded.
