The Department of Energy (DOE) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) are working with all the stakeholders in Panay, including the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) to restore the power supply throughout the island as soon as possible.
Palm Concepcion Power Corporation (PCPC) is taking extra effort to bring its power plant back online late tonight for synchronization into the grid.
The DOE and ERC also met with the local officials of Western Visayas earlier this morning upon the invitation of Iloilo Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr. and Mayor Jerry Treñas of Iloilo City to discuss measures to address the situation and prevent the recurrence of power interruptions in the island in the future.
During said meeting, they also reviewed the measures implemented by the NGCP arising from power interruption that occurred in the area in April last year.
Meanwhile, the DOE and ERC also met yesterday with the Regional Development Council (RDC) of Region 6 and discussed the prolonged power interruption in Western Visayas. ###
