TAGUIG CITY– The Department of Energy (DOE) conducted the 2019 Mindanao Energy Investment Forum (MEIF) at the Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao yesterday (3 April).

Presentors from the DOE, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, National Electrification Administration, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, the Bank of the Philippine Islands, and Overall Savings Potential-Energy Service Company International Inc. gave a clearer picture of the current regional investment landscape and its potential benefits to the people of Mindanao.

The MEIF is part of the DOE’s activities to engage with potential energy investors and provide updates on the ongoing energy projects that will ensure the continued supply of electricity in the country.

Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said, “With events such as the MEIF, we are given an opportunity to present how far we have gone in fostering energy projects. We are able to reach out to investors to give them the confidence that they will have the DOE’s support as partners in bringing light to our people.”

Representatives from local electric cooperatives, energy generators, financial institutions, various government agencies, and local business groups were among those who participated in the energy business forum.
