BENEFITS TO ENERGY HOST COMMUNITIES: Municipality of Kananga, Leyte Vice Mayor Elmer Codilla, shares his hometown's experience in hosting an energy project during the Energy Investment Briefing in Bacolod City on Wednesday. The town of Kananga benefits from the geothermal power plant owned and operated by the Energy Development Corporation. Under the Department of Energy's Regulations 1-94, generation companies shall allot 1 centavo/kilowatt-hour in electricity sales to host communities to fund projects for electrification, development and livelihood, as well as environmental protection and health.
