Inter-Agency Task Force Seeks To Secure Energy Services in Mindanao

(Taguig City). The Department of Energy together with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Securing Energy Facilities (IATFSEF) continues to push for the reliable delivery of quality energy services to Marawi and the province of Lanao del Sur amid ongoing military operations against remnants of the Maute group.

​The National Power Corporation-Mindanao Generation (NPC MinGen) declared that the operations of Power Plants in Marawi City and the Lanao area are back to normal.

 As of 8:26 am today, 30 May 2017, NPC MinGen, the operator of the Agus Pulangi Hydro Electric Power Plant Complex, reported that Agus 1 generates a derated capacity of 40MW average load, while Agus 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 & Pulangi 4 HEPPs are back to normal operations.

 NPC MinGen also reported that it continues to monitor the other engineering aspects, including the Lake Lanao elevation and the discharge of water to efficiently run the Agus-Pulangi Hydro Electric Power Plant Complex.

 The National Electrification Administration (NEA) likewise submitted to the IATFSEF the current power supply situation in Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LASURECO) franchise area.

 As 8:00 am, May 30, 2017, Lanao del Sur's 1st district (15 municipalities) is 20% energized, while the 2nd district (16 municipalities) is 100% energized.

 Marawi City is 20% energized, while the 3 municipalities of Lanao del Norte within the LASURECO franchise area are 100% energized.
