TOLEDO CITY, CEBU - The Department of Energy (DOE) - led Energy Investment Coordinating Council (EICC) Secretariat conducted a consultative meeting with Toledo City's local government officials, headed by Mayor Marjorie Perales, and representatives of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) last Thursday (14 November).
The meeting sought to orient city officials on Executive Order No. 30 (EO 30); the rights and privileges of projects that have been declared as energy projects of national significance (EPNS), as provided in the EO; and the status of NGCP's pending endorsement from the Toledo City Government.
NGCP has a pending application for Locational and Zoning Clearances from the city government and an endorsement from Barangay Magdugo for its Cebu-Negros-Panay Stage 3 Interconnection Project, one of the two EPNS projects of NGCP hosted by Toledo.
According to Mayor Perales, she will sign the Local and Zoning Clearances based on the recommendation of the City Planning Office.
On the matter of the pending Barangay Endorsement, the Mayor suggested that NGCP write to the City Council to request for a Council Resolution on the issue, and agreed to assist NGCP in securing the document.
