DOE to award top performers of energy efficiency in PH

The Department of Energy (DOE) will be handing out awards to various commercial and industrial establishments and energy managers across various sectors in the country for their notable performance and contribution in energy efficiency and conservation (EE&C) at the 31st Don Emilio Abello Energy Efficiency Awards (DEAEEA) to be held at the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) Fitness Center in Pasig City on 06 December 2013.

Celebrated every December since 1982 during the National Energy Consciousness Month, the DEAEEA was named after the former Meralco Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Emilio Abello, who also held the position of Chairman of the Energy Conservation Movement in the country.

The annual event is jointly organized by the Philippine National Oil Co., National Power Corp., Meralco, Petron Corp., Chevron Philippines Inc., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Energy Development Utilization Foundation Inc., Energy Efficiency Practitioners Association of the Philippines, and the Energy Conservation Center Inc.

Awards will be given to individuals and agencies and establishments in the government, business, and industrial sectors that apply EE&C measures and best practices on significantly reducing their energy consumption.
