Congress, DOE honors the heroism of task force kapatid

March 18, 2015

To memorialize the efforts of the Task Force Kapatid, the House of Representatives together with the Department of Energy (DOE) issued House Resolution No. 1581 – commending Task Force Kapatid and thousands of its unsung volunteers for their heroism, selflessness and sacrifice beyond call of duty for working under adverse and harsh conditions to repair and rehabilitate power lines and stations, thereby immediately restoring power in disaster ravaged areas at the Batasan Pambansa in March 17, 2015.

Secretary Petilla who was present during the awarding expressed his thanks to all the volunteers most especially during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda.

“They did not measure how much they can give rather, they gave all even under harsh conditions and short deadlines that if given to others would have simply given up, but they didn’t.” said Sec. Petilla.

The Secretary was also awarded a plaque of recognition citing his contributions to the electrification program of the country.

Among others who were also present during the ceremonies were House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Cong. Reynaldo V. Umali – Chairperson of the House Committee on Energy, Cong. Michael Rivera of 1-Care Party-list, and Cong. Rodel Batocabe of AKO BICOL Party-list.

The Department will remain faithful to its objectives to the people ensuring sustainability and energy access for more.
