The Cabinet Oversight Committee on Internal Security (COC-IS), by virtue of memorandum dated September 24, 2003, created the Task Force for Security of Critical Infrastructures (TFSCI) to coordinate all government efforts in the protection of the country’s critical infrastructures. These are key infrastructures not only for economic growth and development but also as societal instruments for the conduct of everyday, activities. Hence, any threat posed against these infrastructures would be threats to national security.
