Q. When is DOE Library open?

A. Generally, DOE library is open during weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm only

A. It is located at the Ground Floor of the DOE old building. Its address Energy Center, Rizal Drive corner 34th St. Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, 1630

Q. Who may use the DOE Library?

A. Department of Energy (DOE) management and its staff, employees, stakeholders, academics and the general public.

Q. Do we need to pay or register to use the DOE library?

A. Library users do not need to pay just log-in to access through our DOE website

Q. What materials are in the DOE Library?

A. The DOE Library has in the its collection composed of the following:

  • Books - mostly of technical and scientific books primarily related but not limited to energy, geological science and computers.
  • Serials - consist of scientific and technical journals, popular magazines of general interest and local and international newspapers.
  • Vertical files - are pamphlets, brochures or articles on energy and energy related topics, ephemeral in nature and generally contained in 50 pages or less.
  • Microfiches - are filmed sheets bearing a number of micro images in a two-dimensional form which are reproductions of existing textual materials on energy and energy related - data.
  • Audio-visual materials - include but are not limited to charts, graphs, maps, transparencies, videotapes and the equipment needed for that use.

Q. Who may avail of DOE library materials/holdings?

A.

  • Only permanent employees of the Department are allowed.
  • Contractual and casual employees of the Department are allowed provided that a permanent employee is willing to draw out the materials on his/her behalf.
  • Permanent employees of DOE-attached agencies are allowed provided they present a letter of endorsement from their respective librarian.
  • Researchers, students and the general public are allowed to use the library materials subject to presentation of the visitor's ID obtained from the Security Guard at the lobby. And they are not allowed to take out any library materials outside of the DOE premises.

Q. Who is eligible to do research at the DOE library?

A. The DOE library is open to all researchers.
