The Department of Energy - Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office (DOE-CWPO) in partnership with its Visayas Field Office successfully conducted the “Consumer Connect: Empowering Energy Consumers with Proper Information to Make Better Choices” Information Education and Communication (IEC) campaign in Region 8 on April 26, 2023 at the Oriental Hotel, Leyte.

The resource speakers were experts from the Department of Energy – Visayas Field Office (DOE-VFO), Department of Energy - Renewable Energy Management Bureau (DOE-REMB), Department of Energy - Energy Utilization Management Bureau (DOE-EUMB), Leyte II Electric Cooperative (LEYECO II) and the Energy Regulatory Commission - Visayas (ERC-Visayas).

The 100 participants were selected barangay officials under the City Government of Tacloban Leyte.
