Public Notice No. PN2014-04-0001: Declaration of Remote and Unviable Areas Pursuant to Section 59 of the EPIRA and Rule 14 of Its Implementing Rules and Regulations

NOTICE is hereby given that Barangays Mabila, Batuganding, Tucal, Konel, Lipol, Tinina, Gomtago, and Tagen in Balut Island and Barangays Laker Island, Camahual, Patuco, Camalig in Saranggani Island, all located in the Municipality of Saranggani, Province of Davao del Sur are remote and unviable areas have been declared open for the provision of electric service by Qualified Third Parties (QTPs) pursuant to Section 59 of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001 otherwise known as EPIRA and Rule 14 of Its Implementing Rules and Regulations. The Davao Sur Electric Cooperatives (DASURECO) having franchise obligations over these remote and unviable areas, have issued Board Resolutions No. 50 series of 2014 "A Resolution Amending Board Resolution No. 10, S. 2014 and to Temporarily Waive the Cooperative's Franchise to Operate in Balut Island covering Barangays Mabila, Batuganding, Tucal, Konel, Lipol, Tinina, Gomtago, and Tagen and in Saranggani Island covering Barangays Laker Island, Camahual, Patuco, Camalig located in the Municipality of Saranggani, in Favor of a Qualified Third party."
