Call for Papers: Mining Engineers' Symposium

The Mining Engineers' Symposium organized by the Philippine Society of Mining Engineers (PSEM) is now accepting abstracts for evaluation and possible acceptance. The symposium brings together experts and resource persons to stimulate meaningful discussion of best industry practices, technological advancement, professional upgrade and government policies for sustainable development.

It provides the important stage for active discussion on policy, energy development, construction, professional growth and welfare, legal, occupational health and safety, environmental, social, economic, academe and technical strategies that aim to facilitate harmonious co-existence of our profession to all stakeholders:

  • All Papers Abstracts should be limited to 400 words. (Arial font, size 12, double spaced);
  • Deadline for submission is on Saturday, April 28, 2018;
  • All paper abstract should be emailed to: [email protected] with the Title: Abstract for 5th MinECon Symposium
  • Abstracts/papers endorsing brands, company names, labels, etc. that advertise products and services are classified as "COMMERCIAL PAPERS" charged presentation fees, accordingly.

Request for Comments on the Draft PNS/DOE FS 2:2006 LPG Refilling Plant - General Requirements

Request for Comments

The Oil Industry Management Bureau through the Oil Industry Standards and Monitoring Division in cooperation with the Technical Committee on Petroleum Processes and Facility (TCPPF) has just completed the review/update/revision of PNS/DOE FS 2:2006 LPG Refilling Plant - General Requirements. This is in compliance with the Bureau of Philippine Standards Directives, Part 1, 2.8 Maintenance of standards which states that:

"Every Philippine National Standard (PNS) shall be subjected to systematic review in order to determine whether it should be reconfirmed, amended/revised or withdrawn at least every five (5) years or as the need arises due to market requests, technological and other acceptable reasons."

Enclosed is a copy of the reviewed/updated/revised draft PNS/DOE FS 2:2006 LPG Refilling Plant - General Requirements which is being circulated to all concerned sectors from April 13 - June 13, 2018 for comments. We appreciate receiving your comments on or before June 13, 2018. Non-receipt of your comments on the specified date shall be construed as your concurrence to the draft PNS/DOE FS 2:2006 LPG Refilling Plant - General Requirements.

The Department of Energy (DOE) will hold the “E-Power Mo, Communicating Efficiency Across Energy Sector” on April 24, 2018 at Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza, Baguio City. This event will be undertaken in cooperation with the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and the US Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Building Low Emission Alternatives to Develop Economic Resilience and Sustainability (B-LEADERS) Project. 

This activity aims to highlight and promote the importance of energy efficiency in all sectors and to make energy efficiency a way of life for every Filipino. 

We would like to invite you to this one-day event. The morning plenary shall contain topics like, Machine Learning: Going Beyond the Hype and Making it Work for Earth Science, Vanadium Flow Battery for Ancillary, Energy Efficiency Situation of the Philippines, and Success Story: Energy Management System/ISO 50001.

In the afternoon, Breakout Session 4 shall tackle several important topics such as: Consumer Empowerment; Public Consultation on Direct Connection Guidelines; Public Consultation on Causer Pays Mechanism; and Information Education and Communication Campaign on ER 1-94: Benefits of Host Community.
