Formulates and updates national and regional energy plans and programs consistent with the medium-term Philippine development and investment plans
National Energy Planning
- Formulates and updates the Philippine energy plan (PEP)
- Evaluates and monitors implementation of the PEP and related programs
- Evaluates overall energy balance table and energy mix
- Conducts research and studies related to national energy palnning
- Monitors performance commitments of DOE to OP/SONA
- Prepares energy sector accomplishment reports
- Provide inputs for and integrate the agency performance measures for budgetary allocation
- Coordinates with concerned DOE units, various government agencies, industry participants , LGU's, NGO's, ETC. (E.G.., NEDA-RDC's, IPPs,ECS,ETC.) on matters related to the above-enumerated functions
- Conducts public consultations and briefings relative to the above functions
- Performs AD HOC functions as may be assigned
Regional Planning Section
- Formulates and updates regional energy plans
- Evaluates and monitors regional energy plans and programs
- Conducts research and studies related to regional energy planning
- Provides technical assistance to local government units and other concerned agencies in the formulation of regional energy plans and programs
- Updates and maintains regional energy database
- Prepares project proposals on regional energy plans and programs
- Coordinates with concerned DOE units, various government agencies, industry participants , LGU's, NGO's, ETC. (E.G.., NEDA-RDC's, IPPs,ECS,ETC.) on matters related to the above-enumerated functions
- Conducts public consultations and briefings relative to the above functions
- Performs AD HOC functions as may be assigned
