ENERGY RESEARCH TESTING AND LABORATORY SERVICES

Formulates policies plans, and programs in support of exploration and development of indigenous energy resources, as well as to promote energy efficiency through scientific energy performance testing and equipment calibration services.
Behind the line bureaus at the forefront of the DOE’s undertakings on energy security, conformity to Philippine National Standards, and protection of the energy-consuming public, the ERTLS provides technical support through its two laboratories:
Geoscientific Research and Fuel Testing Laboratory Division
- Tasked with conducting geoscientific research and analysis of rocks, oil and gas, geothermal water, coal, and processed fuels.
Lighting and Appliance Testing Laboratory
- Tasked with energy performance testing.
The ERTLS ensures the availability of state-of-the-art testing equipment and research facilities, along with a highly competent workforce to meet the needs of the government, the energy sector, industry, the academe, other stakeholders, and the public, relevant to present and anticipated functions.
