Coal and Nuclear Minerals Division
Formulate and implement policies, plans, programs and regulations relating to exploration, development, production, utilization and resource management of coal and nuclear mineral resources.
Exploration and Geoscience Research Section
- Formulates policy recommendations, plans and programs on coal and nuclear mineral resources exploration
- Implement policies, plans and programs on coal and nuclear mineral resources
- Conduct research and studies on coal and nuclear mineral resources
- Evaluate contract/permit and applications relative to the merits of work programs and other technical qualifications relating to exploration
- Evaluate and ensures compliance with regulations and commitments of contractors and permittees relating to geoscientific activities
- Maintain database on coal and nuclear mineral resources (reserves and exploration information)
Development and Production Research Section
- Conducts research and studies on the development and production of coal and nuclear mineral resources
- Evaluate service contractor’s proposed work program and other technical qualification relating to the development and production of coal and nuclear mineral resources
- Ensure compliance of service contractors with work commitments and regulations relating to the development and production activities
- Ensure compliance of coal contractors with the Coal Mine Safety Rules and Regulations and other related laws and regulations
- Evaluate/Process applications for permit / licenses / certificates related to development and production of coal and nuclear mineral resources
- Maintain and update database on development and production of coal and nuclear mineral resources
- Formulate and implement policies on development and production of coal and nuclear mineral resources
- Ensure the implementation of safety and instrumentation, mine rescue, emergency preparedness and first-aid training program of coal contractors
